Message from the CEO: JEFFERY K. PATTERSON
CMHA is proud to collaborate with the Cleveland Foundation, the Cleveland Public Library, the Cuyahoga County Public Library, PCs for People and numerous other partners on an outstanding initiative to provide programming and support to bridge the digital divide.
Our goal is to make sure that every resident has an opportunity to connect to the internet and to provide continued training and support. Please see the information in this newsletter on WiFi hotspot lending and affordable access to the Internet, personal computers and repairs. Connecting the unconnected is one of our most important initiatives. We hope HCVP participants take full advantage of this initiative. |
PARTICIPANT FEATURE
HCVP participant and resident of Cleveland Heights Cecelia Price recently graduated from the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. After graduation, she plans to buy her first home. Price obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in May of 2018, opened a checking and savings account and raised her credit score during her time as a FSS participant. She believes the program was extremely beneficial and adamantly encourages other residents to get involved. Price joined the HCVP program in her early 20s as a single mother and was able to move for better access to schools. The FSS program, which changed her life in a way that she could not imagine, expanded her network and provided education on budgeting, interviewing skills, homeownership and more. Price acknowledges CMHA and the FSS staff for helping her to set and reach goals! |
